Basic Hotel Bergen

The employees are extremely friendly and flexible. the units are a nice size, tastefully decorated, and have comfortable beds and nice windows. the simple decoration in the rooms is perfect. the hotel is a cosy base for exploring Bergen.

Was a little nervous about gaining access, as I was arriving after the reception closed when no staff are on site, but the instructions sent were clear and everything worked perfectly. My room was good, with a small fridge, and the hotel is close to the Hurtigrute terminal from which I was travelling next day. I got off at the 2nd stop of the airport bus, Festplassen (ignore google.uk maps which place this square somewhere different), and it was just a few minutes walk to the hotel. WiFi info in the lift, coffee machine on 2nd floor. The guy at reception next morning when I checked out was really friendly and the price is excellent value in Bergen.

The location is great, close to a landmark and only 20 km from the airport.

no parking near the hotel, it may be the problem if you travel by car with little child.

Room style and position.

One of the receptionist was very unkind. No info at all when we arrived in town.

Helpful staff, they were very attentive! the room was practical and had a modern touch. Loved that it had an electronic key card, a TV with lots of channels, and a desk. the bed was super cozy, and the walk-in shower was a nice touch after a long day of exploring. 🚿

The hotel was ideal with excellent and absolutely perfect location short down hill walk to Hutigruyten cruise terminal. Location: the property was not far from the harbour. Had supper enjoying drinks at nearby Naboen Pub & Restaurant.

The hotel is about 15-minute walk from railway station and 5-minute walk from city malls. As the hotel is small, it is a little difficult to be found. Besides, there is no breakfast provided, the price is a little high.

Convenient location near a big Catholic church makes it easy to get to. 🏰 the surroundings were pleasant and just right.

Location, Location, Location! The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants and shops just a short walk away.

The noise! Unfortunately, the hotel is located above a bar and nightclub, which made it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The loud music and bass vibrations could be heard and felt throughout the entire building.

Great location! 🌟 You get separate vouchers for breakfasts which is awesome. It's so convenient because you're close to all the restaurants and also near the railway station.

There is more than one hotel in Bergen called the Basic Hotel and the one I am reviewing is not the most popular one. Please be sure to get precise directions from the train station before staying or you may be walking around for multiple hours trying to find it. Small miscommunication about check-in times, but was taken care of and I was able to check-in past 7:00PM
